Flash floods in the haors of northern Bangladesh
by BRACGlobal
Flash flooding has left hundreds of thousands of families in Bangladesh with no livelihood until the next harvest in April of 2018. The latest reports show a near total loss of paddy, which means that life across the entire haor region has paused. People are leaving everything and migrating to Dhaka. Livestock is being sold at dismal prices. Most of the schools are closed and even the children who can get to them cannot concentrate because there is no food at home.
