Salmon Fishing, The Bigh, Sion Mills & The Doctors, Stream, Strabane, River Mourne, 8 & 9 June 2019, v1 Short
Heavy rain resulted in a spate in the River Mourne. So the water levels were good over the following days with quite a few salmon anglers on the water in search for that elusive spring salmon. Saturday was spent on Sion Mills Angling Club water, ‘The Bigh’ located just outside the village. A pretty wet day with the water being slightly coloured and a tad too high for fly fishing, however it was improving. Sunday was spent on the Doctor’s Stream. Strabane & Lifford Angling Association. Again quite few anglers on the water with Kieran Cairns hooking two fish but unfortunately he lost both as can be seen on the footage. That was the highlight of the day, with not much more happening.
