Woven Wind
In her essay Cotton and Cypress Knees, Dr. Shelley MacLaren writes, “Once made, the ceramic
cypress knees bear the marks and fingerprints of their making. They speak to the effort made to make them, but they do not pretend to speak for the past. They are opaque. Made by many people in shared moments and acts of learning, displayed and photographed together, they offer landscapes that speak to building community.”
