Woven Wind

The Woven Wind project, a collaboration of Nashville-area artists presents their effort to ethically represent the voices of the enslaved. The project began as research into the Lovell-Quitman archive, located at the University of the South Sewanee Special Collection Library. The archive includes extensive Quitman Plantation records and photographs of the Civil-War era. Woven Wind is multi-layered project, that includes studio and field work, community engagement, genealogical findings, and conversations with the descendants.
