Male in his black and white breeding plumage. Widespread all over the country in open forest, woodland, tree lines along rivers in semi-arid regions and nearby scrub. Hunts by chasing flying and ground based insects. Common cheerful chattering trill is a prominent spring and early summer bush sound. Seen in Campbell Park end of Mount Ainslie Nature Reserve ACT.
