Grattacielo Pirelli (Pirellone)
In July 2016 I visited Milan with my family, and these are the best shots of the city that I took, although I included some shots from when I went there again on a school trip to go to a planetarium in Milan in February 2017. The cars shots in Milan will follow soon, of course ;)
This is Grattaciello Pirelli, or Pirellone. It was finished in 1960 and was the tallest building in Europe from 1958 to 1966, and Italy's tallest building until 1995, while now it is the 11th tallest.
Its name comes from the famous Italian company 'Pirelli', which used the building until 1978, when the Region of Lombardy bought the skyscraper to use it as their headquarter.
In 2002 a small airplane crashed into the building, killing three people.
(And this is my 200th photo on Flickr|)
