QuickBooks-Error-80070057
QuickBooks Error: 80070057 the parameter is incorrect, or You do not have sufficient permissions. When you try to open a company file, you see one of the following messages:
80070057 the parameter is incorrect.
Why this is happening
There are 3 possible causes for this error:
* You tried to open QuickBooks by double-clicking on the company file, rather than by opening the file from inside QuickBooks.
* You use a third party firewall and it is not configured.
* You use BitDefender, which blocks uncommon ports when there is data traffic between computers. QuickBooks 2008, 2007, and 2006 use the database service running on the host computer. This database service communicates through ports 10180 (2008) ,10172 (2007) and 10160 (2006) respectively. BitDefender blocks these ports by default.
