More from Richard Sniezko:

Seed was sown in 2014, inoculated with white pine blister rust fungus (Cronartium ribicoloa) spores in September 2015, and disease assessments started in 2016 – the trial will be assessed for 5 years post-inoculation to rate parent trees for genetic resistance based on their progeny. This trial was supported by a Special Technology Development grant from USFS FHP, and is a precursor to a range-wide (including populations from Mexico) evaluation of SWWP as part of a National Science Foundation (NSF) funded project (in conjunction with Northern Arizona University and others).
