Images from the Dark Side
Goodbye Tilly
Where do you start to sum up your feelings about the loss of a Pet. Needless to say we are heartbroken and there is a big hole in our family. We inherited Tilly nearly ten years ago when she was about two. She was the most good natured dog I have ever known and was perfect for us, she quickly set about worming her way into our affections and breaking through every barrier and rule that we set for her.
We have been lucky to have enjoyed her and she has left us with many happy memories, a couple that I would like to share.
She was quite a quirky looking thing, being a cross between a Pointer and Jack Russell, we entered her into a local dog competition, that was just for fun. She won the waggiest tail trophy, which was quite something as her tail had been docked before we had her. I dread to think of the damage that tail might have done as she always wagged the stump furiously.
Some years ago I posted an image of her called Bandit. It was taken in our kitchen as she was trying to make a dash for the garden carrying her ill gotten gains. My son, rather foolishly, left a Pizza unattended in his room, She helped herself to a slice and made a run for it. Having been found out she proceeded to try and look innocent. The image is one of my family’s favourite of her and sums her up completely, the link is below if you would like to see it.
She was diagnosed with Heart and Kidney failure in January, we were told at the time that she probably only had weeks, over 6 months later she finally lost her battle but the fact she lasted so long shows what a fighter she was.
Rest in Peace little one
