O2 class W18 Ningwood in mid 1950s about to depart on a Ventnor train.
By the time I had visited the I.o.W a couple of times as a young teenager I managed to see all the surviving O2s except W18. It was a slightly earlier withdrawal so perhaps that is why it eluded me. I was bemoaning this fact to my father shortly after the end of S.R. steam when he produced this photo which he had taken of our train loco with me when he took me as a four year old for a weekend to Ventnor.
