Russia. Saints-Petersburg, Kronstadt

The naval Cathedral of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker (St. Nicholas naval Cathedral) is the last one built, the largest of the naval cathedrals of the Russian Empire. It was erected in 1903-1913 in the neo-Byzantine style in Kronstadt under the project of V. Kosyakov.

As he wrote in 1910, Kosyakov himself: "since 1902 in Kronstadt made the construction Of the naval Cathedral-a monument to the ranks of the fleet, who died in the line of duty... the Temple is built on the highest approved project and during the course of construction is the subject of special attention of their Imperial Majesties."
