Lightship "Trusty Rusty"

Guiding airbound travel along the icy rocks of the Northern floating ice field, the old "I C Rocks" lightship – lovingly nicknamed „Trusty Rusty“ – has been a fixture for more than twenty years. Every airship pilot rejoices at the sight of her fire-red hull, for this signaled that arrvial in Belleville airspace was only a few more hours away. Also, without her bright light, the sharp edges of the floating ice rocks (also known as „skycicles“) would spell certain disaster for most airships – especially blimp-based transportation.

Her crew of four spends more than a year at a time on board, bracing fierce weather conditions with temperatures sometimes falling below - 40° C giving the daily maintenance and de-icing of the light tower prime importance.
