New England Central Railroad train 611 (Brattleboro to Palmer turn that forwards the connecting 323/324 road freight traffic) has paused here at about MP 68.5 on NECR's Palmer Sub, the former Central Vermont Railway mainline, as they set off traffic for the busy industrial park at Barretts. On the point is NECR 3015, a rebuilt GMDD GP40-2W blt. Jun. 1974 as CN 9457 which was repainted into this Honoring Veterans scheme in August 2024. This view was captured looking down from the right of way of the abandoned Hampden Railroad....one of the long vanished routes in Palmer...famously known as "The Town of Seven Railroads."
