Dalhousie Dreaming

Sticking with the classic EMD streamliner theme here is today's IG post featuring what is arguably the finest looking business train on the rails today. This was taken five years ago, and is the only time I've seen this train on one of its rare forays from its home in Calgary to the far eastern reaches of the system.

The stunning Canadian Pacific business train running as symbol 040B-24 behind classic FP9s (ironically of CN heritage!) is heading east to Montreal and destined ultimately to Albany via the former D&H. They are passing the iconic preserved circa 1899 steam era water tower in the village of Dalhousie Mills, less than a half mile from the Ontario provincial border here at MP 41.6 on CPR's Winchester Subdivison mainline which was built in1887.
