Climbing Thru Bergers

Northbound Reading and Northern train NRFF is passing the intermediate signal at MP LS 149 of modern day RBMN's Lehigh Division mainline at a spot on the railroad known as Berger's. Unlike the signals on the Reading Division which were all reinstalled by RBMN, the signals on the upper Lehigh Line date to NS, CR, and predecessors LV or CNJ.

'America's Freight Train' is climbing the 0.9% grade to Crestwood with a healthy sized train behind 5018 and 5019 dressed in the Fast Freight scheme. These locomotives are both rebuilt SD50-2s acquired from CSXT and Jan. 1983 and Mar. 1984 as Seaboard System 8507 and 8550 respectively. Trailing are SD40-2 3054 (ex CNW 6867 blt. Sep. 1974), SD50 5049 (ex MP/UP 5049 blt. Dec. 1084), SD40-2 3064 (ex NS 3550 originally blt. Sep. 1979 as BN 7194).
