Northbound 56

Here's one last train I grabbed on this fun Friday before a cold beer and some of the best steak tips and poutine around at the Whetstone Brewery.

The northbound Amtrak Vermonter, train number 56, is about ten minutes off the advertised as it kicks up dust as they sail off the causeway along the Connecticut River and approach the Riverside Drive crossing. They are passing over the switch to the south leg of the wye here at about MP 119.9 on modern day New England Central Railroad's Palmer Sub, the former Central Vermont Railway mainline that was jointly operated with the Boston and Maine Railroad whose successor Pan Am Railways exercises trackage rights to this day. In just moments they will slow for their stop beside the stone 1918 Union Station in downtown Brattleboro before continuing on to St. Albans.
