My Sentiments Exactly!

I found this plow sitting on the old ramp at CSXT's little Pittsfield Yard and used it to capture my sentiment. I sure wish something would eat these ubiquitous GATX blue lease units and give us matched yellow and green Housatonic power back!

But I'll shoot what I can get in 2021 so here is HRRC train NX12 up from Canaan with GP38-2s 2627 (originally a straight GP38 blt Jan 1971 as Penn Central 7916) and 2328 (blt in Feb 1966 as Illinois Central GP40 number 3011) they have just cut away from their little six car train on Main 1 of the old Boston and Albany just west of CP147 on modern day CSXT's Berkshire Sub. They will couple to their big pick up and start switching up the the half mile long stub of the old B&A North Adams branch that remains in service as far as the former crossing over Route 9.

If you wish to learn about the history of the railroad in general please check out the long form caption with this shot on a different day:

And for more Housatonic shots be sure to check out my Housy album.
