Sandbox Train

After a 38 mile run up the mainline from Pan Am New Hampshire Northcoast train D7 (BODO when operating on Pan Am) dropped their train on the NHN mainline (the former Boston and Maine Conway Branch) back by the shops and ran up the the spur here to the sand pit. They have grabbed a cut of loaded hoppers that they will take back west across busy Route 16 that they will shove off north of the junction on the stub of the main before gathering up the empties they'd brought north and making a second trip in here to spot them up before calling it a day to start their weekend. Three quarters of the railroad's roster is seen here, EMD GP38-2s NHN 3823 (blt. Sept. 1978 as CR 8242), leased FURX 5509 (blt. Mar. 1970 as high nosed straight GP38 SOU 2801) and NHN 3825 (blt. Sept. 1978 as CR 8244).
