Green Mountain Goodness

Another take from Friday's adventure along the Vermont Rail System's ex Green Mountain Railroad (ne Rutland) mainline. After the massive three plus feet of snow dumped by Winter Storm Gail the regular 263 freight crew was dispatched to head east from Rutland at 0900 on Friday with Green Mountain Railroad wedge plow X106 (blt. by the Russell Snowplow Co. in 1954 for the Central Vermont) being pushed by GMTX 2205 (EMD GP38-2 blt. May 1972 as PC 7948) instead of their normal freight consist.

Despite the long tree shadows I still wanted a shot of them passing the former Rutland Railway Gassetts Freight house here at MP B17.9.
