TTX Passenger Special

Doug Harrop Photography • April 6, 1995

In late March 1995, TTX Company rented an 11-car set of Santa Fe business car for employees to tour the western United States and witness railroad operations. The train departed Chicago on March 31st, beginning a 9-day journey ending in Chicago on April 8th.

The routing was from Chicago via the Santa Fe (Raton Pass) to Los Angeles, and north to Richmond by way of Tehachapi.

UP took over from there, routing the train via Feather River Canyon east to Salt Lake City, Ogden, and through Wyoming.

Doug caught the special move on the Salt Lake Subdivision at Burton Lane in Kaysville, Utah the morning of April 6, 1995.
