Morrison-Knudsen Corp. in Boise, Idaho rebuilt a quartet of worn out GE U25Bs into M-K TE70-4S locomotives. A Sulzer 12ASV four-stroke turbocharged engine, rated at 3240 hp was installed in the modified U25B carbody.

The experiment proved unsuccessful and no additional units were rebuilt. Due to reliability issues, all four were retired in 1987 and scrapped.

Doug managed to catch the class engine, SP 7030 in Ogden, Utah only eight weeks after the rebuild. The lone unit may have been en route to M-K in Boise for repairs and/or modifications.
