Doug's Backyard
Doug Harrop Photography • May 20, 1980
At the time this photo was taken, Doug Harrop was a locomotive engineer for the Southern Pacific. He and his family built a home in Weber Canyon at Mountain Green, Utah.
This excellent photo of Amtrak's San Francisco Zephyr with the rugged Wasatch Mountains was taken in his backyard. No kidding!
Leading train No. 6 is Union Pacific "Fast Forty" No. 8028. The trusty snoot SD40-2 continues to serve on the UP roster today as SD40N No. 1860. Today it can be found in City of Industry, California.
