Kodachrome on Kodachrome

Doug Harrop Photography • June 2, 1990

A pair of "Kodachrome" painted Santa Fe SF30Cs lead an eastbound train around a photogenic curve at Getz, Arizona.

At the time, Santa Fe was working to quickly repaint the failed SPSF merger units back to yellow and blue. Catching two Kodachrome units leading a train in 1990 was quite a catch.

Getz is a neighborhood just east of Kingman. Southside Park, in the middle of the big curve was under construction at the time.
