Western Pacific F7s in Salt Lake City
While I never got to see Western Pacific's "Fab Four" F7s in service, two of them made a surprise appearance in Salt Lake City, Utah on July 26, 1983. Union Pacific repainted WP 917 and 921 in North Platte, Nebraska, prior to donation to railroad museums.
WP 917 would go to the Bay Area Electric Railroad Association for display at Western Railway Museum at Rio Vista Junction, California. WP 921 went on to the Greater Portola Area Chamber of Commerce for display at Feather River Rail Society in Portola, California.
