Pioneer Road
Union Pacific’s LUF51 local creeps slowly across Pioneer Road in Draper, Utah on Aug. 22, 1989. Beginning late in 1985, this section of Provo main would see very little through traffic as the UP was granted trackage rights on the shorter and faster D&RGW main line between Lakota Junction and Grant Tower in Salt Lake City.
Today, this right of way is owned by Utah Transit Authority, and serves as a tail track for stowing extra light rail vehicles for the afternoon rush downtown.
