Rio Grande car No. 100, the "Wilson McCarthy" rests at Roper Yard in South Salt Lake on Aug. 20, 1983. The forces at Burnham shop in Denver, Colorado converted a former Prospector coach, and released the business car for service in 1956. D&RGW named the car to honor Judge McCarthy, a court-appointed receiver and president of the Denver & Rio Grande Western who guided the railroad to sound financial health and independence.
