And yet, it was delightful to witness a 51-year old rebuilt EMD, earning its keep for the railroad it was built. SD40N 2038, formerly SD40-2 No. 3148, pulls eight loads along a two mile stretch of 1.12% grade, between Logan and Smithfield at 9:00 a.m. in rural Cache County, Utah.
