Super Duty EMDs

Rio Grande SD9s No. 5308 and 5312 pause between switch moves at the yard office in Provo, Utah the morning of Jan. 8, 1978. EMDs SD9 series were proficient pullers, and Provo train master Eddie Anderson requested them to pull heavy transfers between Provo and Geneva Steel. The Grande's SD7 and SD9 locomotives proved their worth in the field day after day.
