Union Pacific’s Hinkle, Oregon - Yermo, California manifest freight pulls 69 cars along a new 8.2 mile line change near Garfield, Utah the evening of July 12, 1997. The old alignment was moved northward to the shoulder of I-80 to allow for the expansion of Kennecott Copper’s Magna tailings pond.
