GP30 Retirements
By the mid-1980s, Union Pacific began to retire its fleet of GP30 locomotives. UP 802 leads a PVSC train, departing Provo, Utah for Salt Lake City the afternoon of June 7, 1986. The unit was formally retired from the active roster on Aug. 10, 1987 and sold for scrap to Southwest Railroad Car Parts, Longview, Texas. Info from UtahRails.net
