Highball Lakota Junction
Rio Grande GP40-2 No. 3121 leads a Denver to Salt Lake City manifest freight through Lakota Junction near Orem, Utah on April 12, 1990. Historically, this was a diamond crossing at grade between Rio Grande's double track, CTC controlled Subdivision 6 mainline and Union Pacific's CTC controlled Provo Subdivision. Switches were added when the diamonds were ripped out in 1985, and trackage rights were granted to the UP on the D&RGW.
