XF-104, s/n 53-7787. Second prototype. Written off 19 April 1955 63 miles ENE Edwards AFB, CA. Lockheed test pilot Herman R. "Fish" Salmon was forced to eject following a catastrophic gun malfunction during air gunnery tests resulting in loss of aircraft control.
