MAUSER 9.1/2" Quick Release Adjustable Spanner / Wrench. "Made in Germany".

Anyone know the history & age etc of this splendid tool?. Sadly I can find out very little about Mauser apart from firearms manufacture. Is this particular tool for use with WW2 firearms or is it automotive in origin?. Any info would be appreciated.
