Beatle boy
This is me @15 . . . Beatle-cut, black polo-neck Beatle jumper, hipster jeans and attitude.Taken by Fay on her "Box Brownie"
Below are emails and my responses to my being m.i.a of late. Also a poem that gives an inkling of why. (This is an old poem, not a response to the wonderful encouragement received below)
Ego-let-go
Does anyone write down
The wind’s mourning sound?
Would any bother to write
Of the scratchings in the night?
So why should I write of me
And the trite things I see?
Is there anything to compile
Of the clacking, loose roof- tile?
Or any kind of record . . . vile
Of the burp that brings up bile?
So why should anything of me
Taint poetic posterity?
Does the bin with the rubbish in
Deserve lines like Gunga-Din?
And will any write a note
Of the clearing of a throat?
So why flatter my shaky ego
To wield a leaky biro?

Keep the heart up
Mike
Good to hear from you. Of all my contacts of flickr, I have only a handful whom I value, so they are rather conspicuous when they are absent! I am sorry to hear that you are a bit under the weather - but you know, it happens to all of us... At times like that, flickr becomes inconsequential, somehow. I have been through a phase recently where I found the whole thing banal and more than a little insincere.
But then I also have to say that I have found nice people like you with integrity and honesty and more than a huge talent, and for that I am grateful and feel blessed. So I hope that you will not be absent for too long and will once again share your life-journey and wisdom with us.
Keep the heart up - we can only come to the dawn through the shadows...
Blessings and a big Irish hug to you and to Fay.
Sandra
Bless you for this Sandra . . . like springs of water in a waterless country it is to me. I'm very sorry for not keeping in touch with you and like you say, a handful of other lovely people too. The fault is mine, no one else's, neither is it flickr's, though I too have felt similarly about it as you.
If I could think straight and positively all the time I would be sending cheques to flickr for connecting me to such wonderful personalities and talent of which you are a prime example.
I WILL post a new poem/pic and with your permission post your lovely email with it, together with a big, heartfelt thank you from me to you.
Chaste love and a big brotherly kiss to a REAL sister of mercy,
Mike x

Hey Mike,
Sorry you're in a bit of a slump, but glad it's nothing serious. Take care of yourself, and know that there are those of us out here in the ether that enjoy your leavings.
All the best!
Llyn
P.S. I'm up to my armpits in work - Flickr is my escape from what I call "Eating elephants." I'm blessed with being paid to draw all day long, but I have to create 30 - 60 drawings a day for 8 - 16 hrs per (you can throw a 36 hr. marathon in there once every couple of months). Nice to escape to the creative network and be dumbfounded by the talent floating all around the world. Cheers!
Sweet of you Llyn to boost me so generously,so busy but so considerate,
I am going to post something today
Thanks to the special few
That answered my own "Mayday"
