Quachil Uttaus

The idea here is to make the base look like fertile ground with vibrant vegetation, as the vegetation gets near Quachil, it dries and yellows, eventually being swept into the vortex of grey light.

 

I tried to add these browns and yellows to the edges of the swirls, and as they ascended the figure I de-saturated the colors until they reached the top with light grey edges. This signifies the physical matter being destroyed as it is quickly aged thousands of years in mere moments.
