FREIGHTENGER TRAIN
Amtrak's glorified freight train, the Three Rivers, rolls west past the Conrail engine facility at Cresson, laden with US Mail and a couple of passenger cars, just for good measure. Providing service for the Johnstown - Altoona helper pool, as well as the South Fork locals, the Cresson engine house is always a good place to find some power laying around. Back in '98 a pair of the regular SD40-2's were in for service on a spring day.
