'Home' was surely the only place my dad wanted to be after 4 years away at war, 3 of them spent in PoW camps. He originally bought notebooks with 'camp money' in the canteen of an Italian PoW camp to write his diaries .
He arrived home to his wife in the sleepy village of Claydon, Suffolk on May 25th, 1945. This is the last page written on the last day of June. I was born just before Christmas 1946.
