►M+ is a museum "dedicated to collecting, exhibiting, and interpreting visual art, design and architecture, moving image, and Hong Kong visual culture of the twentieth and twenty-first centuries"
A modular terracotta cladding system covers the building’s facade and various sections of the ground floor. Distinctive cladding designs with a marked materiality are a signature of Herzog & de Meuron’s buildings. Referencing traditional Chinese roofs, the glazed ceramic tiles of the M+ building are made from a special clay mixture that was extruded through a mould in a ceramic factory in Chianti, Italy—a region historically rich with natural clay deposits. They were assembled into precast units in Shenzhen and shipped to Hong Kong.

Un système modulaire de bardage en terre cuite recouvre la façade du bâtiment et diverses sections du rez-de-chaussée. Les bâtiments de Herzog & de Meuron se caractérisent par des conceptions de bardage distinctives et une matérialité marquée. Faisant référence aux toits chinois traditionnels, les tuiles en céramique émaillée du bâtiment M+ sont fabriquées à partir d'un mélange d'argile spécial qui a été extrudé dans un moule dans une usine de céramique à Chianti, en Italie, une région historiquement riche en gisements d'argile naturelle. Elles ont été assemblées en unités préfabriquées à Shenzhen et expédiées à Hong Kong.
