Classical L521
Getting an EJ&E SD38 on home rails outside of the Northwest Indiana area has become tough in the last few years, but occasionally one breaks free from the Kirk Yard matrix and ends up on L521. This is one such instance, as we see EJ&E 661 leading the Joliet-bound mixed freight west past the Frankfort pump house in the final minutes of light on a brisk January evening. CN has been gracious enough to allow a majority of the classic EJ&E power to avoid the paint booth since acquiring the railroad in 2009, with only a handful wearing CN paint. It will be 16 years since CN takeover at the end of January this year, and a majority of the roster still wears orange.
