Large Ranunculus Polymixis flavicincta

19/09/2022: 15W actinic trap; Llangennith, Gower, S Wales.

We’re having a week away on the Gower peninsula, somewhere neither of us had visited before, staying in a rental cottage with an extensive garden, so it would have seemed rude not to bring along a moth trap. We arrived on Saturday, but last night was the first with reasonably overcast conditions and my reward this morning was this pristine Large Ranunculus – a species I’d not seen before.
