A family affair

Summer arrives gently in the water meadow close to home. Gilded grasses and dappled pools shimmer in the golden warmth. Amid the hush, Egyptian geese guide their goslings through the rippling shallows. It's the first time I've ever seen them breed here. An ode perhaps to the renewal of life in this rich and varied habitat.
