Podgora Spomenik

Created in 1962 by Rajko Radovic, this spomenik at Podgora, Croatia was intended to commemorate the creation of an anti-fascist naval force on the Dalmatian coast. The naval force was established in 1942 in response to the constant suppression and violence being waged against residents up and down the Dalmatian coast by belligerent Italian and Ustaše forces. This monument is one of the tallest sculptures in all Croatia and is certainly the tallest post-modern sculpture in the country.
