Zero Set parts
I patterned this after a picture from a catalog. All the parts for the holder: The 3 step pin for the mill spindle collets (1/4-3/8-1/2) is steel and is held to the aluminum bar with a 1/4-20 cap screw recessed in and up through the bottom on the rod holder block. The slider rods are w-1 drill rod and are held in with 3/16-24 set screws from the bottom side of the block. The rest of the unit is made of aluminum, except for the brass knob and thumb screws and of course the springs which keep tension on the brass fine thread adjustment screw and knob. The best part of little projects like this is the fact that you can put something useful together without a trip to the store using parts from the junk box. (except the DTI!! of course!)
