Hare (Lepus europaeus)

I was very lucky when this Brown Hare turned up 60 yards in front of the place where I was fishing at Hawk Lake in Shropshire. Because I was ensconced in a Bivvy I managed to stay unnoticed and I got some great photos of the animal while it was grazing on the lush grass at the bottom of the meadow. There is usually a gathering of these around March in this field and you can see them boxing and pairing up ready for mating.
