Great Crested Grebe (Juvenile)

Me me, me me, me me, is almost the sound the chick makes when the parent bird comes up from a dive with a food offering. The chick races through the water as fast as it can to get there before its siblings and takes the prize. As the chick grows the parent will release its prey early encouraging the youngster to dive and recapture the fish for itself. In this way the parents teach their young to hunt for themselves.
