Squirel

In Carp fishing we use a type of bait called a boily. This is a high protein bait binded with eggs, shaped into round balls and boiled to give it a firm outer skin. The object is to make an attractive bait for carp that will resist the attentions of smaller fish species.

The problem is not just carp like these bait, they are also attractive to most species of birds including diving ducks, dogs, cats, rats, mice and squirrels. In an effort to keep the store of baits away from the attention of these pests I hang a mesh bag of the boilies from the weigh scales hook on the weighing tripod the legs of which are made of steel and have nothing to give any of these denizens something to grip and be able to climb up to the bait or can they?
