Mirror Carp (Cyprinus carpio carpio)
I managed to capture this image of a leaping Mirror Carp at my Syndicate water. One of the King Carp species specifically bred for having less scales to remove when preparing them for the pot. They are usually more common than the unfortunately named Common Carp although I have fished waters where the Common Carp is the more prevalent than the Mirror but this is not usually the case.
Each fish has a unique scale pattern that identifies each individual a little like a finger print does with us.
The fish leaped out over 150 yards away and the picture is not cropped, I estimated the size of the fish to be over 30lb in weight.
