New to the Northeast

EMD’s SD24 was sold to customers in the west and the southeast, but not the northeast. In 1984, some secondhand SD24’s finally penetrated the northeast when the fledgling Maryland Midland bought four from the Burlington Northern. Here, one of them works west toward Highfield at Loy, Maryland.
