Hopper-Palooza
Again I have no F-units in the queue, so I'll call this Freight Car Friday. Nickel Plate 70-ton hopper 80018 is seen in ore train service at Mingo Junction, Ohio. There are plenty of other interesting cars in this photo, including a B&O/Chessie covered hopper and some Wheeling-Pittsburg Steel hoppers full of coke, but the real prize for me is the Toledo and Ohio Central hopper. The T&OC was absorbed by the New York Central in 1938,but the reporting marks endured. Unfortunately, it was evening and I panned the NKP car, leaving the others slightly blurred.
