Grace Mine Cleanout Train
The portion of the former Reading Wilmington & Northern branch between Joanna and Coatesville, Pennsylvania was ripped up in the early 1980’s, but the portion from Birdsboro to Grace Mine was kept intact. In 1985, a few cleanout trains were operated to deplete the stockpiles remaining at the mine. As this train passes through Geigertown, the rusty rails and weed-grown roadbed reflect the impending demise of this line.
